HUMOR:  THREE MEN WITH FINANCIAL DIFFICULTIES SEEK ADVICE FROM THE RABBI

A man was having very serious financial problems and did not know what to do.  So he called the rabbi and made an appointment.  The man drives over to the rabbi’s house and the rabbi comes out to greet him.  They both go into the rabbi’s office, sit down at their respective sides of a prestigious table, and the man begin to explain the market conditions and what happened to his holdings.  Bills are due and my bank account is in the red.  The rabbi turns to the man and explains that all answers can be found in the Torah (Bible).  The rabbi hands the man a copy of the Torah and asks him to close his eyes, turn to any page, and blindly place his finger on the page.  The man proceeds to follow the rabbi’s guidance.  The rabbi tell the man to now open his eyes and look down towards his finger and read the word aloud.  The man does so and to his amazement it said “Zahav” or “Gold” in English.  The man proceeds to invest in gold and makes a fortune.
A few weeks later the second man is experiencing financial difficulties and calls the rabbi to schedule an appointment.  He anxiously waits until it is time and goes to the rabbi’s office.  The rabbi greets him and takes him back to his office.  The man explains his situation and the rabbi explains that “The Torah (Bible) has all the answers”.  He hands the man a copy of the Torah and instructs the man to close his eyes, flip the pages, and stop anywhere he likes, and place his finger anywhere on the page he selected.  The man does so and the rabbi instructs him to open his eyes and find the place that his finger is pointing to.  The man does so and reads it aloud “Shemen” or “Oil” in English.  The man proceeds to buy shares in oil and makes a killing.
A few more days go by and the third man experiences calls from the debt collectors and he does not know what to do.  He calls the rabbi and schedules and appointment.  Anxious to see the rabbi he arrives early for his appointment.  The rabbi greets him and they both go into the office.  The man tells about all the threats from the debt collectors and once more the rabbi explains that all the answers can be found in the Torah (Bible).  He hands the man a copy of the Torah and instructs him to close his eyes, turn to any page, and place his finger anywhere on the page.  The man does so.  The rabbi tells the man to open his eyes, look down on the page and locate the word under his finger.  The man does so and then reads alound “Chapter 11”.
